Attention All SAA Members:

SAA sports using outdoor fields will now be paying the Schaumburg Park District for the use of lights at a rate of $15 per hour/per field. A committee from the Executive Board spent 3 months negotiating this rate as well as reviewing the original contract with the Park District to ensure that our members will not see increases on a yearly basis. Our current contract will run through 2012 with no additional increases.

In an effort to avoid increasing the registration fees for the current and upcoming seasons within each sport, the SAA Executive Board is contributing $5.00 per player towards the individual sport budgets to help offset the light fees for the 2008 and 2009 seasons. This will allow the sports time to get a more accurate accounting of actual usage based on 2 seasons.

Please keep in mind that after the 2009 season, a sport may find it necessary to increase registration fees to cover the cost of the lights based on actual usage. By the end of the 2nd year or 2009, raising the fees for sports using lights may be unavoidable.

Each sport is assigned a light code which will track the actual usage by sport, by field. It will be up to each individual sport to determine how they will use the lights based on their needs. SAA will receive a monthly bill from the Schaumburg Park District.
