The 2010 season has concluded. Plans for the 2011 season will be getting under way. Registration for the 2011 season will open sometime in the beginning of December 2010. Watch your mail around that time for the registration reminder and keep checking back here for future information and updates. The SAA Girls' Recreational Softball Program exists solely for the purpose of providing a wholesome summer activity for young ladies ages 5 through 19. As an essential part of this purpose, we are committed to the instruction of participants in the proper skills to play the game of softball and to the teaching and modeling of good sportsmanship. Please note our program uses and operates under the guidelines of the Schaumburg Athletic Association. See more details on the leagues at the bottom of the page. LEAGUE INFORMATION & STRUCTURE In the T-ball and Pee Wee leagues, the girls are placed on teams based upon school/area and preferences. Juniors through Majors are placed on teams based on their evaluation. Fast pitch rules have been established for Juniors through Majors and vary depending upon the level.
T-Ball through Majors: Indoor Practices/Clinics Will be held in April as part of the practice season
Player Evaluation is scheduled for Sunday, February 14th, 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. at the Schaumburg Sports Center. Evaluations are required for those in the Junior, Intermediate and Major Divisions (3rd-8th Grade) (Players will be notified by phone of specific time). Team Placement Notification occurs in the week of March 15th (Managers will call players after team assignments are completed). If you do not get a call by the 22nd, please contact the commissioner for the league your daughter plays in. Practice Season Begins Monday, April 5, 2010 Opening Day/Pictures and Saturday, May 1, 2010 Pictures 7:00 a.m.- 1:00 pm at Keller Jr. High Opening Ceremonies - 1:30 p.m. at Olympic Park Games begin at approximately 3:00 p.m. at Olympic Park. Seniors: Managers will be getting their rosters mid March so you can expect a call in the week of March 29th. Practices do not begin until May 14th with the first games starting June 11th. Remember - if you are playing softball for your high school, you cannot participate in practices for the SAA Senior team until you are finished with the high school team. This is an IHSA rule.
