2018 N60 Competitive All-Star/Tournament Team Registration

Try-outs for the 2018 Spring teams at all ages have officially closed. However, after registration begins and the rec baseball program gets into the in-house training sessions, some N60 coaches at varying ages may need additional players. If you have interest in this, didn't know about it, and/or just moved to the area please contact the N60 Commissioner Shawn Donohue at Shawn.Donohue@saa-online.com for any possibility for open roster spots.

N60 Details:

SAA Recreational In-House Baseball is pleased to announce participation in the Part-Time All-Star (N60) Baseball program for 2018. This program is being offered by SAA as a member of the newly formed Northern Illinois All-Star League (NIASL). The NIASL is a competitive, part-time baseball league that features teams from various northern Illinois communities. This program will replace the SAA All-Star Tournament teams that have competed since 2011.

WHAT is Part-Time Travel (N60) Baseball?

The Part-Time All Star (N60) Baseball program was designed to provide in-house players the opportunity to experience more competitive baseball, on a part time basis.

This program is perfect for those players interested in playing more competitive baseball, in addition to the SAA in-house baseball league. It provides an opportunity for the player to play scheduled games against other communities with competitive programs in a Southern Division of the NIASL including Bartlett, Arlington Heights, Palatine, and possibly more. There will also be an opportunity to play against the Northern Division teams in Lake, Cook, and McHenry Counties. The program also includes the participation in two competitive tournaments in the area.

WHEN are games played?

From the beginning of April, through June, N60 players will play 12 to 15 N60 level baseball regular games, plus one or two tournaments, in addition to their regular in-house games with SAA (playing on an in-house team is a requirement). All N60 games will be played on Sundays, with the potential for double-headers, and will attempt to not interfere with SAA in-house schedules. Players will have to travel to the surrounding towns for all Away games. Home and Away games will be approximately 50/50 within the schedule. Practices will be on Fridays.

N60 players will be expected to practice an additional 1-2 days a week, on top of any practices they may have with their in-house teams, if applicable. (NOTE: in-house games take priority over any N60 games and practices)

WHO can sign up?

The opportunity to participate in the Part-Time All Star (N60) Baseball program is open to all registered SAA 8U-14U baseball players. Tryouts CLOSED. The intent is to create teams of 12 from each age league. These teams will practice starting at the end of October 2017, have a winter break when the weather becomes unplayable, and resume in January when the indoor facility opens. They will be registered for the in-house 2018 spring season in October of 2017.

Note: There is a possibility for more than 1 team at an age range if the number of kids trying out and talent warrants it, vice versa we could have an age range with no team if numbers are not sufficient.

Costs

The cost for participating in the Part-Time All Star (N60) Baseball program is $300. This includes all scheduled games, umpire fees, tournament fees, and travel uniforms.

The $300 is due upon formation of teams indicating commitment to the roster.

Note: cost of program is in addition to SAA in-house league fees
