The mission of the SAA Travel Baseball Program is to provide a competitive experience for players wanting to continue their pursuit of baseball at a higher level. The program strives to develop players that are successful at the next level. SAA Travel Baseball achieves this goal through dedicated coaches and a great off season training program provided at our warehouse training facility. Our training includes Pitching, Hitting, and Fielding instruction with catching instruction also provided. Our warehouse is open for 13 weeks Jan – Mar where all our teams train hard in the offseason.
The players are selected following a try-out process held the first Saturday in August each year. Check the web site for exact dates and times each season. The SAA will attempt to field at least one U8 & U9 team and also two or more competitive teams at each age groups: U10, U11, U12, U13 and U14.
Flyers “A” level teams are open invitation to all players that want to be a part of the SAA Travel Baseball Program. There are no residency requirements for our highest level teams. We encourage families and players from within the local area to tryout regardless of residency. Flyers “B” level teams maintain a residency requirement with exceptions available for players that make the team but are considered outside of residency. Please contact the Head or Asst Commissioner for further details.
The travel baseball season typically begins April 1st and runs through August 1st. Our teams play in multiple leagues in the area seeking out the toughest competition possible. Most of our teams travel outside the state at least once a year to participate with National competition.
Teams typically have three or more games and practices per week during April and May and five or more games and practices per week during the June and July tournament season. We provide two competitive levels of competition at each level. Our “A” levels or Blue teams shoot to compete at the highest level possible in state and national leagues and tournaments. Our “B” levels or Orange & White teams, shoot to compete in very competitive leagues an
d tournaments while advancing towards the “A” level each year.
Playing on a travel team is a major commitment for the player and the family. All players are expected to attend all games and practices as scheduled by the team head coach.
If you have any questions about the SAA Travel Baseball Program please contact the head commissioner, asst head commissioner, or the commissioner for your son’s age group for more details.
