The Part-Time All-Star (SLAM-N60) Baseball program was designed to provide in-house players the opportunity to experience more competitive baseball, on a part-time basis.
This program is perfect for those players interested in playing more competitive baseball, in addition to the SAA in-house baseball league. It provides an opportunity for the player to play scheduled games against other communities with competitive programs in a Southern Division of the NIASL including Bartlett, Arlington Heights, Palatine, Streamwood, Elgin, Burlington, and more. There will also be an opportunity to play against the Northern Division teams in Lake, Cook, and McHenry Counties. The program also includes participation in two competitive tournaments in the area.
WHEN are games played?
From the beginning of April, through June, SLAM-N60 players will play 12 to 15 SLAM-N60-level baseball regular games, plus one or two tournaments, in addition to their regular in-house games with SAA (playing on an in-house team is a requirement). All SLAM-N60 games are generally played on Fridays and/or Sundays, with the potential for double-headers, and will attempt to not interfere with SAA in-house schedules. Players will have to travel to the surrounding towns for all Away games. Home and Away games will be approximately 50/50 within the schedule. Practices will also generally take place on Fridays and/or Sundays.
SLAM-N60 players will be expected to practice an additional 1-2 days a week, on top of any practices they may have with their in-house teams, if applicable. (NOTE: in-house games take priority over any SLAM-N60 games and practices)
WHO can sign up?
The opportunity to participate in the Part-Time All-Star (SLAM-N60) Baseball program is open to all registered SAA 8U-14U baseball players. The intent is to create teams of approximately 12 from each age league.
Note: There is a possibility for more than 1 team at an age range if the number of kids trying out and talent warrants it, vice versa we could have an age range with no team if numbers are not sufficient.
Cost
The cost for participating in the 2024 Part-Time All-Star (SLAM-N60) Baseball program is TBD, not to exceed $325. This includes all scheduled games, umpire fees, tournament fees, and travel uniforms.
The N60 registration fee is due upon the formation of teams indicating a commitment to the roster.
Note: SLAM-N60 program costs are in addition to SAA in-house league fe
Tryouts will take place at the beginning of the Fall Ball season (2023).
* Be on the lookout for registration to open in July through your child’s sports connect profile *
