2019/20 SAA Rec Soccer Registration

SAA Rec Soccer 2019/20 Registration is now open.  Practices can begin August 26th and games will begin the weekend of September 7th & 8th.  The final scheduled week of games will be Oct 26th & 27.  Kindergarten (Coed) and girls play Saturdays and boys 1st grade-8th grade play Sundays.  If you sign up for fall, your child is automatically signed up for the spring and will be on the same team.  Practices are held twice per week, M-F, 5:30 or 6:30.  As days shorten, 5:30 practice times are to shorten to allow 6:30 practice times a reasonable amount of time to practice.

SAA Rec Soccer always needs volunteer coaches and will provide coaches training.  No experience is required.

Each team is required to make a team snack order each week, it is recommended that $20 be taken for each player at the beginning of each session.  A snack parent/committee for each team is suggested.

Kindy - 2nd Grade 4v4, no goalie, size 3 ball

3rd-4th Grades 7v7, size 4 ball

5th - 6th Grades 9v9, size 4 ball

7th-8th Grades 11 v 11, size 5 ball

Rosters are formed by a variety of factors including, but not limited to

  1. School
  2. Neighborhood
  3. Years experience including travel status
  4. Observed player skill level

SAA Rec Soccer Launches TOPSoccer Program


Schaumburg Athletic Association (SAA) TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community- based soccer program through U.S. Youth Soccer for children 5 and older with a physical or intellectual disability.

Soccer practices will be modified to accommodate each player's unique abilities and motivations and highlight their strengths. Players will be partnered with volunteer “Buddies” to work on fun soccer activities. Adaptive equipment will be provided for various special needs.   Everyone who wants to play will be accommodated in such a way so that they can participate.

Practices are held on Saturdays from 3pm-4pm at the Atcher Park Soccer Fields weather permitting. The season runs September -October and April -June.  Players and volunteers may register at any time.

SAA Rec-Chicago Fire SITC Summer Soccer Camps

Get your soccer player's summer off on the right foot and sign up for the SAA Rec-Chicago Fire Soccer in the Community Soccer Camp.  SAA Rec Soccer is once again partnering with the MLS Chicago Fire the weeks of June 10-14, 5:30pm-8:30pm and August 12-16, 5:00pm-8:00pm at Meineke Park, 220 E. Weathersfield Way.

Play, learn and train with the passionate, highly qualified Chicago Fire coaches who will support your child and help him/her develop and improve their soccer skills in one week of soccer-filled fun. 

All players who register will receive a Soccer in the Community Dri-Fit jersey, individual player evaluation and a game ticket to a Chicago Fire Graduation day game at SeatGeek Stadium (formerly Toyota Park).

Coming Late Summer 2019-HS Girls Blackmore League

Schaumburg Athletic Association (SAA) Recreational Soccer Program is proud to announce its participation in the Blackmore League.

What is the Blackmore League?

  • Recreational soccer program for high school girls who are not part of a club/travel soccer program in the fall of 2020. 
  • Fun, competitive soccer option opposite the girls’ high school spring season. 
  • Comprised of teams from the Far Northwest Suburbs of Chicago
  • Sunday afternoon games - held at both Atcher park and other towns (Barrington, Crystal Lake, Cary, Palatine, Lake in the Hills and more)
  • Two to three tournaments
  • Cannot be carded travel player during current season

SAA Recreational Girls High School Soccer (Blackmore League)

  • Practices will begin early August
  • Season runs August-October
  • 1-2 practices per week. 
  • The first tournament is August 18th and the final weekend is October 27th.
  • Games will be held during Labor Day Weekend.  
  • Board approved, background checked volunteer coaches.
  • Cost: $150 and will increase to $175 after 6/30
